Member of small, on-site technical staff supporting a senior OSD office with oversight for systems engineering.  Assist senior level OSD staff with the formulation of technical policy and guidance for: a) the use of systems engineering principles and best practices; b) the use of systems engineering approaches to enhance reliability, availability and maintainability; c) development of systems engineering master plans including system engineering considerations in support of life cycle management and sustainability; d) reviewing major weapon system acquisition requests for proposals for inclusion of provisions relating to system engineering and reliability.  Review system engineering master plans and development planning activities for major weapon system acquisitions.  Assist in providing advocacy, oversight and guidance to elements of the DoD acquisition workforce responsible for systems engineering.  Develop technical positions, issue papers, staff summaries, memorandums, briefings and policy proposals. 

Previous DoD system engineering and acquisition experience required.  Position requires experience with DoD test and evaluation concepts.  Knowledge of DoD acquisition process and documentation required.  Strong writing and communication skills including use of MS Office products.
