Senior Systems Security Engineer responsible for supporting the a senior office in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. Provide systems engineering and acquisition life cycle management technical support regarding system developmental planning, anti-tampering, program protection, and system analysis. Develop and implement policy, tools and transition opportunities for developmental planning, program protection, supply chain risk management, anti-tampering, and software assurance into systems design. Provide oversight and assess major defense acquisition programs/major automated information systems (MDAP/MAIS) for hardware-software security and supply chain risk management engineering and management issues. Prepare technical positions, recommendations, briefing material, and position papers with respect to systems engineering processes, policy, and life cycle matters.
10 years specialized experience, including technical leadership of security systems engineering processes or projects. Experience using anti-tamper initiatives and policies, structured analysis, design, development, and testing methodologies in the development and implementation of large air, land, or sea weapon acquisition programs. Ability to quickly draft technical issue papers, staff summaries, memoranda, and briefings, including translating program technical issues and risks into executive-level terms for senior decision makers and government staff assistants. Working knowledge of Service or OSD-level operating practices, Joint Staff, Service headquarters, and program office relationships; and knowledge of the functions and practices of the OSD organization and its responsibility for oversight of MDAP/MAIS programs. Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Excellent command of MS Word and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with joint capabilities/requirements-generation process documentation and experience working on OSD, Joint, and/or a Senior Service staff. Strong familiarity with security engineering best practices. Experience in the DoD acquisition process, systems and software engineering, developmental planning, systems analysis, program protection related discipline, and/or military/DoD civilian experience.
Master's degree in engineering, systems engineering, systems analysis, management, or related discipline and 10 years relevant engineering and/or systems engineering experience. Candidates with a BS in engineering or related discipline and 14 years of relevant engineering and/or systems engineering experience also will be considered.
