Naval Aviation Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities

Provide system engineering and analytical support for Naval fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft.  Analyze aircraft maintenance records in order to identify problematic systems and assess maintenance documentation for deficiencies.  Conduct correlative analyses with other data and identify potential contributing or causal factors for recurring systems malfunctions/failures.  Document findings to assist DON decision makers.  Must be able to quickly draft issue papers, staff summaries, memoranda and briefings. 

General Requirements

Hands on Fleet experience with maintenance of Navy or Marine Corps fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft.  In-depth knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).  Working knowledge of Fleet level aircraft maintenance practices and organizational relationships.  Respondents must have a Marine Aviation Maintenance Officer MOS or be graduates of either the Navy's Aviation Maintenance Officer School or the Senior Enlisted Aviation Maintenance (SEAM) Course.  Experienced Navy and Marine Corps Aviation Maintenance Administration personnel may also be considered.  Experience drafting and reviewing technical documentation and working with MS Office products.  Data analysis experience. Helicopter vibration analysis experience a definite plus. DoD Secret clearance required.

Educational Requirements

BS in an engineering related discipline is highly preferred
