Strategic Planning and Modernization Conduct strategic planning for local and enterprise-wide solutions specifying methodologies for migrating existing systems, converting legacy data, providing system access, and providing user indoctrination. Specify technology modernization strategies consistent with Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI), Reinventing Government, and Defense Acquisition/Specification Reform (A/SR) principles and objectives.
Year 2000 (Y2K) Support Provide Y2K conversion test support, including test plan development and standard operating procedures development.
Functional Analysis Conduct office automation studies providing functional specifications and cost analysis, hardware and software evaluation, network configuration, cross-platform integration, and implementation strategies. Analyze all aspects of system maintenance, distribution and utilization, including detailed analysis of system life-cycle considerations.
Technology Implementation Provide technical office automation support for implementing and managing current technologies in Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) office environments, including Internet access, EC/EDI, workflow processing, imaging, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation development, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Automation Support Provide automation support to develop, update and document methods for automating administrative applications and forms. Provide technical support in the management and administration of these automated applications.
System Administration Support Provide operational, maintenance and administrative support for client-server network operations; identify, record and assess network events; expand terminal capabilities; monitor network capacity planning and resource utilization; and implement system security measures.
Database Management Design and develop requirements for managing and use of manual and automated databases; provide data displays (including tables, charts, graphs and listings of data) for briefings and reports; provide computer programming support; verify data in the databases; prepare formats for data collection forms, data files, displays and reports.
Software Evaluation Analysis Provide data collection services, systems analysis, and technical reports recommending Government actions to ensure progressive assessments of software progress, validate technical and user requirements, and assess software operational effectiveness and suitability.
Program/System Review Assess the status of software, documentation and technical testing results; provide a record of significant system activities, anomalies and problems identified during technical tests/demonstrations/system reviews or other communications with the developers and program management personnel; provide written summaries of overall system status and corrective actions required by the developer.
Technical Management Analyze key technical management parameters, provide systems engineering management planning and implementation.
Logistics Support Planning Analyze and validate logistical support requirements, logistical support plans, and actions proposed to ensure comprehensive, cost effective logistics support.
Document Review Perform analytical reviews of system documents, from a technical and procedural perspective, to ensure they meet system objectives.
Test Support Provide test planning, technical analysis and reporting (to include test conditions, data requirements, engineering analysis, and calculation of instrumentation and other resources) for developmental and operational testing; make recommendations concerning test requirements and efficient test implementation; and prepare test documentation.
IV&V Provide technical support to develop plans for the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of software products and systems, perform IV&V, and prepare related reports.
Training Perform training needs assessment; develop training syllabus and supporting course materials, create graphics, and evaluate training programs to optimize training effectiveness.
Technical Reports Develop/prepare/distribute technical reports, executive summaries, and briefing materials.
